Housing Support Services

UnitingCare Werribee Support and Housing offers housing support services to people who live in, or are connected to, the municipality of Wyndham.

Our housing support services focus on prevention and early intervention.

Access to the service is via referral from Yarra Community Housing (previously known as Metro West). All referrals will go through an Intake Process. Assessment and allocation of a support period is dependent on vacancies within the Service.

Our housing services offer four targeted programs-The Family Crisis Program, the Family Program, the Single Adults and the Youth Program.  Find out more about the Youth Program

Families and Single Adults are supported to access other relevant organizations or programs as required to secure Long Term Housing. Once Service users are referred for case management the worker will work holistically with the client with a view to achieving identified goals 

The Family Crisis Program:

The program offers support to families 26 years and over experiencing a housing crisis. This program is designed to assist families who are at risk of becoming homeless.

The Family Program:

The program offers support to families 26 years and over primarily through transitional housing, medium term transitional housing and support. Program staff work intensively with families to support and access long term housing options.

The Single Adult Program:

This program offers support to single adults over 26 years of age who require housing support. The Program assists clients to access long term housing, and refers to appropriate services that suits the clients needs.

Wyndham Outreach Program:

Wyndham Homelessness Outreach Program assists local residents in Wyndham who are homeless or at risk of homelessness to access the private rental market. The program is designed to assist and advocate for families, single adults and youth that are finding it difficult to secure a rental property by providing necessary support needed to obtain a tenancy.. The program’s primary focus is to advocate for people that are able to afford and maintain a rental property and to work in partnership with local real estate agencies to assist local residents in securing rental properties.
